The Seed by C McGinnis

God planted a seed a long time ago

for a strong oak tree he wanted to grow

But only One knew what that tree

in the future, was going to be.

God cared for it, sent rain and sun.

The tree didn't know what it would become.

As the oak grew, so tall,

under it, a boy played with his ball.

Beneath its branches the young man grew.

He got older, as the tree did too.

The man wore a crown upon his head.

"Behold! The King" the people said.

The years went on; time went past.

Someone chopped down the tree, at last.

Then came the day the man was tried.

On my branches the young man died.

I Am the Tree, chosen to serve

as The CROSS for death, undeserved.

When I was planted from a seed

God's Son was born to fill God's need.

On those same branches

where He played and cried,

Man's Lord and Savior was crucified.

My Christmas Prayer by C McGinnis

FATHER; HEAR ME AS I PRAY

HELP ME GET THROUGHT THIS DAY

HELP ME ALSO TO BE HUMBLE

PICK ME UP WHEN I MAY STUMBLE

TAKE TEMPTATION FROM MY SIGHT

OUTSHINE EVIL WITH YOUR LIGHT

I BEG OF YOU IN SUPPLICATION

HEAL THE SICK IN EVERY NATION

I PRAISE YOUR NAME IN EVERY HOUR

AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR WONDROUS POWER

Freedom by C McGinnis

The river stands before you
While danger's on the shore
Death the cost of freedom
Your life is worth much more

A boat rests on the river
You can leave or get in
But what the cost of freedom
What is the price to win?

Is it worth your life and sanity
To escape from your demise
To steal away as a thief
Do you really think it wise?

If freedom is so dear to you
And life, also the same
Then choose to get in the boat
Just think of what you'll gain.

"BE" by Venus Davis

BE POSITIVE
Because no matter what, the
Sun is gonn shine
And the rainbow will appear after the rain
BE HAPPY
Because it's a matter of fact that
There is an end to hardship
Only moments away
BE SATISFIED
Because there will always be
Somethng else
But it won't come until we consider our own enough
BE GENEROUS
Because someone will always
Have less and need more
BE OPEN
Because we can only learn
From experience
If we realize experience is what it is
BE GRATEFUL
Because blessings come to everyone
But those who appreciate them reap the greatest reward
BE PREPARED
Because the time may be closer than you think.

ANGELS by Cathy McGinnis

"Mama, what's an angel?" Billy said
While on his pillow, he laid his head
"I pray for things I cannot see,
To keep their watch-care over me."
His mother thought, gave her reply,
"I'm not sure, but, then I'll try.

An angel is a special thing,
that flies above on golden wing.
We can't see them, but they are there
For little ones, they must take care.
But to man they do appear
when something special there is to hear.

Gabriel was the first, I know
He came to Mary, long ago.
He brought the news she'd give a Son
who would be Savior to everyone.
Later, angels came to Earth
to tell to Man of Jesus' birth.
The brightness of wings unfurled,
lit the sky over all the World.

When Jesus died, they stood nearby
and listened to Him moan and cry.
He could have called them to set Him free
Instead He chose to die in agony.

There were other times I'm sure, I know
that angels brought good news below.
But, the time I like the most
was when appeared a Heavenly Host.

"When was that?" the child asked,
who was close to sleep, almost at last.
"That was when Jesus left this sod.
The angels took Him up to live with God."

Sleep was coming over the little boy,
But, his face was filled with joy.
Billy said, "Will they come for me?"
His mother smiled, "Just wait and see."

The Hands of Time by C. McGinnis

If the hands of time could be rewound
They'd show to me the love I'd found
From my mouth would be a gentle word
Instead of all the pain you heard

God has helped me to see your pain
I pray your trust I will regain
The words "I'm sorry" cannot describe
The sorrow I feel inside

My life would be incomplete without you
Please believe me, what I say is true
'From this day forward' is my plan
Encouragement and love go hand in hand

THE MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS

( Author Unknown)

IT STARTED WITH MARY, SO HUMBLE AND MILD
WITH THE HEART OF A WOMAN AND THE FAITH OF A CHILD
SHE ROSE ABOVE ANYTHING SHE MIGH HAVE FEARD
TO ANSWER “AME” WHEN THE ANGLE APPEARED

AND ON THAT FIRST CHRISTMAS IN SPITE OF THE COLD
A SWEET NEWBORN BABY WAS ALL HERS TO HOLD
AS STRANGERS AND SHEPHERDS, IGNORING THE SHEEP
WATCHED WHILE SHE ROCKED LITTLE JESUS TO SLEEP

WHAT JOYS WE CAN KNOW WHAT A MIRACLE STARTS
WHEN WE, TOO, CAN SAY YES
TO GOD IN OUR HEARTS.
